Homeworld 3 developer1/14/2024 The above is not a dig against the dev, as they've done amazing work otherwise, but I'm just showing the limitations of a one-man dev team compared to an actual game dev team who can afford to make assets from scratch. This is most noticeable in the ship models: a good majority of the ship and station designs in that game are from free asset repositories like CGTrader you can look up online, and in fact I've noticed the same ship designs used in at least 3 other games by completely different developers in completely different genres before. Totally, take all the time you need devs, look at this guy for example, "Falling frontier" for example and still not released yet, one person with this much polish, surely a team with a couple more people can do better with more resources.Įh, as much as I'm very much looking forward to Falling Frontier, I also know that it uses massive shortcuts to get their product out owing to being a passion project. Imagine the big battles we could have without lag, that would be a beautiful sight. Blackbird promises a “gripping continuation of the story, fully 3D combat, and classic RTS elements.” Talk is cheap though, so check out the trailer.Originally posted by Necroid:The logical choice would be Unreal Engine 5, even if they have to port it all over i fine with that.
